PhilosophyAn Idea of our Education
Dear Everyone,
Hi, my name is Junichi .T. West and I am the director of Samurai School of Guitar. Thank you for you visiting our homepage; I appreciate you spending your time.
The guitar is such a convenient and enjoyable instrument. If you want to teach yourself you are able to start immediately and maybe not need any lesions.
However if your self taught you can learn bad habits that later on will become hard to break. Incorrect techniques can stop a guitarist from developing to his full potential.
So if you're serous and motivated enough to play to your peak then you should begin on the right foot. Before picking up your guitar you should have knowledge of how to properly setup your equipment and how to maximize your practice buy using correct playing techniques. If you have a passion for music and take the right approach I believe it will be an important first step for great guitar playing.
If you spend a great deal of time practicing everyday anybody is able to gain better technique. However, I would like to say to my students and whoever wants to start lessons you should not learn the guitar passively or practice mechanical like a robot. To be a great guitarist you must have a desire and passion for music. No matter how much you practice if you don't have a true passion and motivation for music you will never reach your true potential. I hope you have motivation and individuality in your playing and have ideas on how you can make your sound better. If you have these philosophies in your practice and commitment with the guitar, you will succeed in becoming a great guitarist, I truly believe this.
Having patience and for learning musical theory, will help and mature and grow as an individual, to have social skills in your life. I would like for you to grow not only musically but also mentally so that you can contribution to society.
These are some of my philosophies of learning music and the principles that my guitar school is based on.
